Youth Programs

Kiwanis International is a "family" of organizations that focuses on teaching young children about the responsibilities of good citizenship, community service and building future leaders.

The Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville Beaches sponsors three youth clubs:

  • K-Kids of Finegan Elementary School
  • BUG (Bring up Grades) Program at Finegan Elementary
  • K-Kids of Mayport Elementary School
  • the Key Club of Fletcher High School

Our sponsored youth groups independently initiate service projects and community service activities throughout the school year. Our club works through an adviser in each youth organization to coordinate our participation with their activities or to have them work with us on major service programs and fund raisers.

We are very proud of our youth groups and their accomplishments which make our community a much better place to live. The activities listed below are a small portion of the many projects they are involved in:

  • The Finegan K-Kids collect food and other needed materials for the Sulzbacher Homeless Center, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, and many other community groups. We also sponsor a program that recognized children who bring up at least one grade each grading period without having any grade go down - the "Bringing Up Grades" program gives a small award and certificate to those children who have worked hard to improve.
  • The Mayport K-Kids club has been in a partnership with the Wolfson Children's Hospital, the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, and other local groups.
  • The very active Fletcher High School Key Club collects food, blankets, and other materials for homeless shelters, toiletries and needed clothing for homeless veterans, and many other worthwhile community projects.
